Building a 13th. century castle with the original methods is a cool idea.
But working all day without an iPod is just cruel!

Awesome. That means if I ever get stuck in Arkansas, or get dragged to Branson, I'll have something to see.

This is pretty cool. I'd love to go and watch the building methods used in medieval times. Hewing rock by hand....cutting and planing the wood, mixing mortar, etc. Interesting!

I wonder if he got the idea from the guy in San Isabel, CO. He's been at it for 30+ years.

Hmmm, sounds like a day trip for when I will be in Little Rock in October.
Wonder how close among the workers you can be?

B&W / Sepia action shots at wide angle. Imagine the growing castle as a backdrop to a guy in period gear (giant since he's close in a 10mm lens) swinging his hammer/chisel on rocks. They are required to wear safety goggles and steel toed boots though (OSHA), so that kind of ruins the feel.

I didn't see any hard hats, which is kinda strange if OSHA is anywhere near......

^ Maybe since there isn't any significant overhead construction going on? Dunno the rules.
But yeah, I think this will be abandoned due to lack of funding and willing labor. It's kinda retarded to do things the slow and dangerous way when you have so many more options. It would be cheaper to do it the new way too :/

Oh I bet if you want to use it as a backdrop for a photo shoot with models he will have the right "fee" to charrge you for your shoot and you wouldn't have to worry about OSHA rules-may even be able to hire some of the actual workers to do it. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
