I'm confused... was the art stuff that he owned, stuff he painted, or is his work just photos of other people's art?!? I guess I expected more... something along the lines of what Linda McCartney did or something?

Try to identify all of the gear that Hopper is carrying in Apocalypse Now:

Obviously at least one Nikon F, perhaps a Hasselblad in the 2nd photo on the left

He collected art and created his own art. This is his work in several media.
