Murph, this is a great example of movie making that tells a REAL story. I saw it when it came out on showtime or whatever movie channel it was and I have watched it several other times. One of the times I watched it with my father who is retired ARMY and I could tell that it really affected him (in a way that I will never be able to relate to). There is something to be said for a movie that can stir these kind of emotions and be a true story as well.

And yes, Kevin Bacon did an excellent job.

I think it is also available on Netflix.

Yeah, a great movie, brings tears without being maudlin.
