35mm Lens Adapters - 06-10-2010, 08:47 AM

I have only had point and shoot cameras but just recently bought a Canon T50 with a 200mm lens and a Chinon CM5 with a 55mm lens and a 135mm lens. I only paid $10 for all of them but would like to find out if there is any way to purchase one or more adapters that I can get so that I can use all 3 lenses with both cameras. The Canon has an FD mount and the Chinon has the K mount. I know that the one of the smaller lenses is actually a Pentax. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I am completely inexperienced when it comes to SLR's. Thanks!

Far as I know, you can get an adapter for the Canon camera in order to use the Pentax style K mount lenses, but not the other way around. No adapter to use the Canon lens on the Chinon that I've heard of.
FYI since you're new, this should be in the "Equipment Talk" section, instead of "Open Talk".

I've bought lens adaptors to use different mount on different cameras, usually ones that allow my medium format lenses to it my canon 35mm bodies... they can be found on ebay with a basic search.

You may have a problem finding adapters for the FD mount. It has a greater flange-to-focal-plane distance than the EOS mount.

You can learn more on the subject of adapters here.

That's probably why you can find an FD to EOS adaptor, but not an EOS to FD adaptor...
