Nope. Not yet, but have been eyeing it.
    Ran across a few reviews.
The first sounds like he is going to pound it, but comes away impressed.

The problem with using the Wii would be it's not in HD. Some of the netflix instant is in 720p and looks pretty good. Plus, don't you have to have a disk in the Wii every time you watch? That's how the PS3 is with netflix.
All I have is OTA and netflix and I'm happy.

Actually, I have 4 different netflix devices in my house that can do HD so I haven't added the Wii yet.

I use netflix on my PS3 and it works really well, I imagine the Wii works well too maybe just not quite as high of resolution. I didn't get rid of my cable, but went super basic and have Netflix to help fill in boring times. The movie selections aren't always the greatest on instant watch, but I'm really happy that all the X-Files seasons are on there, it's going to take me quite a while to rewatch all those.

Well, I settled on the Roku HD/XR which from its site (see link below) is giving 10% off and is cheaper than AMAZON at the moment.

My friend got a Roku, I don't think it works nearly as well as my PS3, not really sure why, but it always would lower the image quality (start off nice, but then re-buffer to a lower quality input) like it couldn't take the feed (he has better internet service than I do, so I don't think it's that). Hopefully it works better for you.

On your friend's Roku, I am wondering how old it is and whether it is the latest model. These things are always being updated.

Additionally, in terms of HD, we just don't use it that much as the picture off our TV seems just fine in non-HD. Yeah, we just are not that technical about it and we are moving away from cable like gangbusters this month.

You're right, a newer model might be markedly better. And it wasn't so much about it being standard or HD than about the image quality looking like a youtube video many times (which is fine if you're watching youtube, but not for a whole movie).

He bought his sometime before Christmas, so many updates may have been made by now, I did like the simplicity of the device though.

I'm using Netflix on Wii and I'm using the RGB able to our Onkyo Receiver. I can definitely watch 720p movies. We're using 101" projector and no pixelation whatsoever =)

We used to do Netflix streaming via our Blu Ray player but the quality was only equivalent to a regular DVD.

    .....

The Wii doesn't output 720p so is the Onkyo up-converting?

Am not sure because on our Insignia Blu-Ray player we're also using RGB but we're only getting DVD quality output when streaming NetFlix movies (meaning some pixelation specially on the sub-titles).

Initially we thought the player was defective but when we watch Blu-Ray movies no pixelation whatsoever.

The quailty on the wii seems as better or at least as good as the crappy dvds! I can't watch Bluray or HD so it doesn't matter!

We've been using our Wii for a while and it looks fine to me but not hi def. My in-laws are running theirs through a Blue Ray player that has network capabilities and they seem to like it.

The one thing to remember is that some movies aren't available right away using this but are available on DVD from them. Not sure if it's all of them or the reason for it (although I'm sure money is involved). I still don't think Avatar is available, at least it wasn't last weekend. This doesn't bother me much but it may for people wanting to see movies as soon as they are available on DVD.

I kind of think the gaming consoles might do better at the streaming just because they can handle more info and buffer better, the quality stays high because the buffer is big enough to handle streaming interruptions.

I could just be making stuff up though.

I'm using netflix on our Wii and we really enjoy it. Sure it's not HD quality, but it's pretty easy and better than trying to sit at my desk and watch streamed netflix on my computer.
