I'm going to watch every single game. Used to play for 22 years myself.

This is the premiere sporting event in the world. It is one of the few times you get to see the best athletes in the world play against one another.

It is pretty much the prefect sporting event. Even for those who are not big soccer fans, they can appreciate that it is once every 4 years, the entire world cares about it, the athletes are amazing, the gamesmanship(good and bad) is outstanding and did I mention it is the world?

I love it. Possibly my favorite part is all my fatty friends that never played sports on facebook saying "Soccer isn't a sport." Really? What would you know about that?

OK
Indy 500
NFL Super Bowl
NBA Finals
Marathons: Chicago, New York
MLB World Series
Summer and Winter Olympics

All better IMO

Disagree completely.
The best athletes are definitely not in the World Series. Most would tell you that themselves. Indy 500? Ha. Marathon? Well, great distance athletes.

In every country but the USA, the best athletes play soccer. It really isn't divided at all. In the USA, they are spread over a bunch of major sports - football, basketball, hockey, soccer, baseball, etc. So our talent pool is watered down. But when you look at every other nation's team, they are representing that nation's best athletes. The only thing that comes close is the Olympics.

Feels good to see that at least some people in the US can enjoy soccer. I think it's the most challenging and interesting sport.

Caught the end of the Argentina vs Nigeria game and the coaches for Argentina surprised me with their flashy suits-when is the last time you saw an NFL coach in a suit on the sidelines? Tom Landry? (he mostly wore sportscoats and slacks and of course the hat).

I hope USA kicks some butt today!
