amazing restraint by an officer that had more than enough reason to become much more physical than he did.

As to the girl that got punched, I only wish he would have laid her out cold.

Ok, I try to use duct tape in these occasions...but ya know cops are human beings. When we push them to the edge, they too will fall off. Of course they should be invincible and know how to stay away from the edge, but alas, at times they will be human. Somehow I think this chick needed it...kind of like the time Paul Harvey talked about that kid that was over seas and was going to get his butt whooped for criminal mischief?? And Paul Harvey said, he was going to get his butt spanked like he should have got done when he was little. I'm thinking this chick has been needing someone to knock her out to get her attention.

Ok...let me have it...: )

And if the 2nd girl had pulled out a revolver and fired three shots into the cop's torso, leaving him for dead... what would have been the headline?

BTW...I don't think it was jaywalking that was the issue...it might have had something to do with the disrespectful attitude...just guessing As the mother of a 15 year girl...just a WAG!!!

He doesn't have a Taser and there were a lot of people around to pepper spray. Yes, they need to get back and they should have backed off but sometimes it is not the best to deploy.

If you think getting punched in the face hurts more than pepper spray, you are wrong. Also, pepper spray sucks to get on yourself, which will happen when you spray. When he first pinned her to the hood, he used the proper amount of force. Male or female make no difference, use of force is use of force.

He is ethically responsible, to the public and all officers, to use the correct and full amount of force necessary to keep himself safe. Going light is a break of those ethics.

Both should go to jail and I hope they both did.
