WordPress 3.0

I'm not here to start another product war. We have enough of those fires we're trying to put out. If you find yourself wanting to be negative or just talk trash, push your keyboard away and slide away from your desk.

For those of you using WordPress go and upgrade to 3.0. There are so many new features. Here's a quick video about a few of the new features. Many of these new features make using WP3.0 even easier. At the end of that post there a Bonus video (2010 State of the Word speech at WordCamp San Francisco).

Wow! I upgraded my blog to 3.0 today but didn't dive in too deep. I didn't realize all the changes.

Been updating my WP sites, nice.

I've been working on a custom CMS/Static site based on WP for awhile, and just upgraded it to 3.0. No problem. Hopefully I'll go live with it in a few days.

Only thing I wish it had was an integrated shopping cart like what was proposed & rumored.

Hmm WP looks interesting. Currently I'm using blogspot. It's kind of whack. Can someone explain to me how WP works? You install it on your computer, but who hosts it? Do you have to provide hosting or what?

V3 is awesome. I've been using nightlies for sometime now, but the release is excellent.

There's some serious new features available in there. This is the biggest update for WP in a looong time, I'm very excited about it.

I'll probably wait for the upgrade until I get back from my trip... plus I hate upgrading right away.. prefer to let others install and find the bugs first. LOL

Yes, you need a host that (preferably) supports MySQL databases... but it is extremely easy to install and manage if you can manage the hosting part.

You download a zip or tar whichever OS you have, uncompress and install to your designated hosting company.

You can then change the skins as much as you like =)

Same here hehehe. Although technically I can't upgrade yet until Graph Paper Press release a WP v3.0 compatible skin for my site.

Their site says a WP3.0 update might be tomorrow.

do you know if any WP releases allow the admin login page to be on https? It kind of worries me that passwords are going out over plain text.

If you don't want to host it yourself, you can let WP host it at Wordpress.com
It's more limited than the self hosting though, you can't use many plugins and some other stuff is restricted.

Still have some things to finish (client gateway, portfolios/galleries uploaded, etc)
