Patrons are urged to arrive already familiar with the inventory of the collection. Up to five boxes of photographs may be requested at one time. Materials are paged electronically and brought to patrons’ desks in the reading room. Laptop computers may be used, but photographs cannot be taken of the photographs. Since most of the pictures aren’t in protective sleeves, patrons are issued cotton gloves so they can handle the prints safely.
