I think mine took 30 minutes but I wasn't timing it and I was getting in right after it was to be available.

CNet has screenshots of it if you're still downloading. http://reviews.cnet.com/2300-6452_7-...col%3bpage

My 3G took over an hour to download the update, then another hour to backup, load update, and re-load...was worth it, LOVE FOLDERS!!!

Edit: I have noticed that the update played havoc with all my home-made wallpapers...they are really fuzzy now (low quality). AND I still have not found out how to change the background on the home screen...I'm still tinkering though...

Edit 2: Ah, 3G does not support home screen background changes...bummer. What you need to know

got it installed.

folders is pretty nice, but it seems the 3G only supports 9 apps in a folder and not the 12 some websites are saying is possible. Home Screeen wallpaper doesn't seem settable on the 3G either. They did give some new wallpapers though, but only for the lock screen. The "Albums and Places" in the Photos app is pretty neat. The dock section is redesigned and I like it's new look. Calculator icon changed.

I like the way the folders opens up though, pretty slick. I'll have to wait for some of the other upgrade stuff in 4.0 until my new phone gets here. I haven't heard from AT&T on that shipping yet

edit: I was wrong, folders do support 12 apps. It's just the way they're displayed that threw me off.

Yeah, I'm really liking the folders feature. Much easier/nicer than trying to place all similar apps on their own screen.

And so far, it does 'seem' that it makes my old 3G run a tad faster when loading an app. I know I cannot run multi-apps like on the 3Gs and soon 4G, but I don't really care about that.

I also like how now you can go into one view to see email from all accounts you're pulling from. That's really nice too.

Yeah, I had a lot of photos that I uploaded to the iPhone (not my camera roll). They all got hosed - awful fuzzy looking crap. I removed them all, and re-synced them. That fixed the problem.

I updated last night and it was superb! It's made my 3GS much faster/peppier. I'm not sure what all the changes were but I'm glad I upgraded our phones.

Yeah, my 3GS seems a little faster too. Or maybe it's my imagination. LOL.

I wanted to find an app that supports multi-tasking, so I downloaded Pandora. (Internet radio, for those that are unfamiliar.) It's actually pretty cool. Not the best quality, but acceptable.

After listening for a few minutes, I started to wonder if it would work with the streaming bluetooth audio feature in my Acura TL. And yes, it does. Streaming radio over my car audio system! This rocks, literally!

I'm VERY pleased.
