Anyone else get theirs yet? Mine came in around 12:00, and activated in less than 2 minutes.

I love it. Noticeable difference in speed -- and the screen is fantastic. Of course, I came from the 3G model, so the speed increase was expected.

The feel is much better than the 3G models, due to the less rounded design. I might even skip using a cover/bumper altogether since the grip is much better. The cases I've used in the past end up scratching the phone more than if I didn't have one at all. And if you aren't protecting the face, why bother?

Other opinions?

I have a FedEx tracking number...but can't even check it because FedEx is so swamped right now :(

My 3g is dreadfully slow but I don't see a reason for paying another $200

I was late pre-ordering my phone, so it isn't scheduled to ship till July 14. I'm considering an early morning trip to the Apple store tomorrow...

Reports now are that they are delaying activations. Seems to counter sending them early to avoid server overloads, if that is why they were sent.

Understood. I just wanted the new phone, so didn't have an problems justifying it. The truth is, that few of us need all these electronic devices we use - we just like 'em'.

I'll sell my 3G for $250 and will recoup most of the cost for this one.

I got mine shortly before 1 and it took 2 minutes to activate it. I had to backup my old phone before I plugged the new one in to iTunes, tho, so getting it fully up and running took about 25 minutes, all told. Love the new display, it's clearer and sharper, and I had a 3GS, I'm really impressed. It's faster than the 3GS, too. I like the form factor of it, it's not as comfortable a "grip" as the other one was but at the same time it feels more secure in my hand. The 3GS was constantly slipping out of my hands, I guess I have slippery fingers....thank goodness for covers, or it'd be completely beat up by now.

The local Wal Mart has 4, 16GB iPhone 4s for tomorrow at 8. A young man went in at 2 this afternoon and asked if he could start the line. We were in there at 7 and there were 2 people. I might have paid someone to sit in for me except I don't want a 16GB model. I'm really not in a huge rush. It just another toy. My 3Gs is fine.

Where are you selling your phone for that much? I want to do that if I can cover the entire cost for the iphone 4..

My ATT rep told me they aren't selling iphone 4 tomorrow, if you didn't preorder or reserve one you won't be able to walk in and buy one. They pushed the release date to the 29th.

that guy may have just missed the best day or night of his life, sitting in line at Wal-Mart,waiting for a phone.

Iphone 4 Software (OS) update

I've got someone in another country that wants it. They won't get the 4 over there for quite some time, and when they do, it will probably run around $1000. Electronics like that cost ~75% more there.

He looked "geekish" but the gal was very pretty. It may be his best night!

We were there switching out my son's iPhone. I thought it would be worth a laugh as we left to mention something to the effect of "he gave us an iPhone 4 by mistake, lets go." Wonder if I'd have seen much of a reaction.
