I am wondering if anyone has bought, held, or fired one of these yet:
If you have experience with this particular firearm, I'd love to hear your thoughts. I have looked at a few others, but I think this one is probably the best fit for me. The Chiappa is a little too different from the 1911 design (no interchangeability), and the Kimber is waaaaaaay more than I want to spend. I have a Springfield Mil-Spec, but am wanting something cheaper to shoot/practice with that is most like my Springfield. PLUS...who doesn't love a 22. | | | | | Sponsored Links | Premium Members do not see Google advertisements. SIGN UP today and help support our community.

Not too much of a gun guy, but Para Ordinance Para USA: High-Quality Handguns also makes a 9mm 1911 style pistol that are somewhat affordable.

A .22LR in a 1911 design seems a bit of overkill, If you want a .22 caliber pistol there may well be better and more affordable options.

Well, isn't an M16 in 22lr also a bit of overkill?

So...the original question was...if you have experience with this particular gun (gsg 1922-22), I'd like to hear your thoughts.

.22 ammo is inexpensive and easy to shoot / If that's your thing.
I prefer a larger caliber with more punch, just my .02

I don’t have any hands on experience with that gun and I have not heard do the brand before. I don’t know that the cost of the model you are looking at is but for around $300 you can get a conversion kit from Kimber or Ciener that include barrel, slide, and magazine. Both will work with your Springfield.

I do realize, however, that this pistol will probably be subject to the vagaries of ammo, just like most 22's.

you can convert the 1911 gun to a 22 but going to cost as much as buying another 22 gun 1911 are better left 45 or 38s I also have 22 tactical rifle and bushmaster the 22 rifle is little cheaper then assault rifle it all depend what you feel like shooting that day
