Depending on where the stands are located, that might not be a bad angle. I have gone up in the stand before to shoot across the top of the net, serves, etc. But, if the stands are on each end, that might be a bummer.

Also depends on the type of tournament. A lot of times, parents tend to roam and get in the way! :-) Might be a different story if it is a UIL school where they have security controlling floor access. A media pass would help.

Edit: HMMM...beach volleyball?

I did it once for a college bowl game. I required more pay than normal and it was nice to have nothing to edit at the end of the game. If an individual is asking for this, I doubt they are willing to pay more but looking for a less expesnive route.

I don't really have that issue now with the D3 since it holds 2 cards. A nice 32gb card in the #2 slot allows me to keep everything I shoot.

exactly! In their mind, this is a cheap route, since they aren't having you do any post work. However, they aren't considering any of the other potential factors, like lost revenue from selling prints and/or selling the image to stock/editorial/commercial clients... Now, don't take it that I'm promising you'll come back with some killer image that could be sold and re-sold for thousands of dollars. No, I'm just saying the client isn't even considering this as a potential option. They think they are doing you a favor by taking the card from you at the end of the day.

Get paid UP FRONT, 100%, and a contract/agreement that the images are "as is" and essentially hold you harmless if they're not satisfied.
