Oh, that's easy...
everything. 5 hours is a MINIMUM per day. I wake up with it...and I go to bed with it...and sometimes...I wake up in the middle of the night with it (lightning bolt popped me out of bed at 4am this morning...checked weather).
Seriously though, I used to spend 3-6 hours an evening on a 17" laptop...and I don't use it anymore. Trying to sell my netbook...it's useless. I'd sell my most current 17" laptop, but even though I don't use it each day, it still serves a purpose for shows as a kiosk, connecting to a projector, etc.
Before the ipad in April, when I would get home in the evening, I usually sat down in the lazy boy, and put the laptop on it's laprest and there I sat for the rest of the evening. With the iPad, I am far more likely to get up and walk around, get out of the house, and do other stuff, but I still put a lot of time on it. But I also take it with me, shopping, out to eat, running errands with the wife while she shops, I hang out waiting for her, etc. I also use it while driving...not playing music or for navigation, but for looking for places to shoot. I have also been using it for navigation on a boat. The star gazing apps are incredible...including the apps for tracking where in the sky the sun will travel, as well as the moon, rise, set, etc. On and on, etc. etc. Sure, a lot of these things can be done on a 3.5 or 4.3" screen. But have until you have held the ipad in your hand and done GPS on a boat, or used it to browse the sky as the compass spins around with you, and a whole lot of other apps that were soso on an iTouch/iPhone...or my Sprint Palm Centro...on the iPad are just...well...amazing.
I have been recovering from a mild surgery this past week...and I have put 10 hours a day on it. The crazy thing is, even with the wifi and 3g antennas active, the battery has not gone below 29% for a days use...and I think that was after two days.
