Bridal boutiques, business, and expanding! Oh My! AKA Holly is a busy girl thread

So, the single most asked question Ive heard in the past 3 years is WHEN DO YOU SLEEP?

Seriously, I dont. My days slowly expanded from 8-10 hours to 14-16 hours. Running two businesses was difficult - mainly b/c I have little kids and a husband. Since I like all of them, it was irritating me to only see them once a year on vacation. As much as I like hanging out at Disney World for two weeks, I'd kinda like to see them more than that.

So, we decided to sell one of them - the bridal store. Why? Why on earth would I keep a photography studio over a bridal shop? I mean, look how pretty it is! (It is pretty)



Ummm...Holly likes art, to create, to paint, to beautify. Lack of doing so was driving me nuts and causing some serious sermonizing in select forums. TFP may have noticed my long rants about business stuff. hee hee. I had to write, paint, or make something or Id choke. You lucky bastards were on the receiving end of a creative freak. (Hope some of those posts helped someone).

Anyway, I have a couple of buyers looking at it, but I decided its time to make it public. So, if you were one of those people WHO ALWAYS WANTED A BRIDAL SHOP, let me know.

Some cool stuff about the bridal boutique. Being the perfectionist that I am, I put us on the fast track to be one of the best boutiques in the US. We were featured in VOWs magazine (A bridal publication).

The way we do appointments is very posh and different. We only see brides one at a time. They get a private appointment - kinda like a hollywood celebrity. Ive been doing that for almost 4 years now. Anyway, it caught a lot of attention. It also caught the attention of Hollywood. I had a producer contact me about doing a reality TV show about the store. (As awesome as the TV sounded, that almost made me puke. Im not a limelight kinda girl).

Soooo - ONE SWANK BRIDAL BOUTIQUE FOR SALE! And I'll keep you posted as the photo studio grows. We are trying to launch NY by Fall. Cross your fingers and your toes! I want to launch NY before the end of the summer, so I dont miss the Christmas crowd. I love the christmas crowd. I have Abilene booked through Summer 2011 for portraits. Thats really exciting and scary since I already work insane hours.

We'll also be on the look out for a new intern in Abilene this year. I need assistants in Austin. Peace out people! Back to editing my Christmas Promo piece. Its got a hat and tassels! I LOVE tassels!

Oh my cow! Holly, I remember when you and Mike bought that place!!!! I'm glad you will be getting to spend more time with your family!

Glad things are expanding in other creative directions for you! Hope you get the time you need and want with your family, and if you ever need an intern in Dallas...I would jump at the opp.
