Been there... lost some good information by doing that... but at least it was clean and didn't have those irritating blue lines all over ever page when I got done!

Use pencil. It doesn't wash out.

Well, it didn't matter if I used pen or pencil, and it did remove blue lines. The only thing intact was the spiral. I did have 52,649,326 tiny pieces of almost lint-like mush throughout the load. The dryer got most of it on the first try, but it took two more washings to get all of it off the clothes and out of the washer drum.

I guess I will try dry cleaning the notebook next time.

rite-in-the-rain. A little expensive but not only do they survive washing, they can be used in a downpour. Used with pencil or a ultrafine sharpie!

Yes, but that crayon may have had untold art inside it, waiting to be drawn out. I hate when the good die young. As for the dryer, well, heck, maybe the crayon gets the last laugh, after all. Color everywhere! Appreciate the art.

Otoh, it's only money, go buy a new dryer.

I stopped carrying the spiral pads and now use my iphone to take down all my photo cutline info. Of course, I usually only need to write down names of people and not full-blown quotes, so the iphone is fast enough for me. Once I leave the photo assignment location, I hit send on my email and the info's waiting for me back at the studio!

I think every door and seat pocket in my truck has a reporter's notebook in it.

All half used.

I have no idea how I keep track of anything
