You may want to check rule #20.

If I remember right.

Its OK to direct people to the contest. Its OK to ask people to vote.

But the line is drawn at asking to vote for a specific person.

I never like playing this game. I think it's wrong asking people to vote, that's as good as cheating. I did vote on it but on a far superior one.

I too voted for a different shot that I liked more. I thought your friend's shot was good, but it was actually my third favorite out of all the images... sorry I couldn't help, but I never vote for images solely based on who took them. I always try to vote for the one I think is truly best... even if I'm in the contest, too!
