I am not sure what I did but I have a block of text that I want to move/delete and I can't select it. I have spent an hour trying to get it selected! Even a select all doesn't select it so I am not sure what to do. If anyone has any suggestions, please help me out. | | | | | Sponsored Links | Premium Members do not see Google advertisements. check your layers. Make sure the block of text is not on a locked layer.
You can also lock the position(Control + L), however you can still select the text.

Also make sure the text box itself isn't locked. You should see an option to unlock it if you right click on the text box.

I think the two above gave good answers. It CAN be selected, you just need to find why it's locked... And, try closing and restarting the program. Sometimes indesign can be buggy.

Thanks for the suggestions, I paid someone to put this together for me last year and am clueless on how to work with it...just trying to update a few minor things.
There is only one layer as far as I can tell, when I hide the layer everything goes away.
I can't see a text box, I would be fine to delete and start over on this section but I can't get to it. There were actually 4 text boxes that I may have locked thinking it would tie them together but now I can't select any of them. There are some red squares with a plus signs in the area but I can't do anything with those either!

The red boxes are usually a sign that extra text is being cut off by a box that isn't big enough. It usually just winds up being a space or something else not needed, but it's still sloppy to leave those sitting around. I always clean up my projects so that I don't have any hidden characters. That way I KNOW nothing is messed up or vital text didn't disappear.

Yeah that is how I first found the problem, I was trying to get rid of them...but now I need to move all the text over a bit. Problem is I can't select it to move, hide, delete, unlock? If I select all, everything on the document is selected except that one area!

Alright, so you may need to check the master pages and see if the block of text lives on the master page. Go to the pages palette and double click on the master page(s) and see if you can get to the object from there.
