I think I've seen 1.5 episodes. I didn't see it yesterday at all. I saw them shooting and him saying "oh, you're so hot" over and over.
I saw him telling a grip or assistant to reposition a light, "move it back some and higher." But I never saw a meter. The way the show is seen and cut I can see folks getting a camera and thinking you can position lights willy nilly and be a "pro."
You are right that it has to be entertaining. It isn't meant to be instructional or serious. As to their gear - I wouldn't be so envious. They allude that his camera is custom made, but they've been bankrupt at least once from what I read many months ago when that show was first announced. In the show they mention financial troubles and they spend extra money to get the shot and eat away at profits. Are these the bankrupt troubles, or a new set? I don't know. It's showbiz here though, not so much a thriving business. I doubt the gear is theirs and you can rent what they rent. |
