I found out "alot" is actually "a lot" approximately twenty-five years ago, but given my age that means I was well into adulthood and well past any formal educational setting, so for those of you who are just now finding out, I feel your pain.

Thank you for sharing this blog. Now, instead of picturing fingernails on a blackboard as I'm reading poorly spelled, poorly constructed comments on FB, I can picture an eagle, flapping in the tree and trying to type with his talons instead and cut the poster some slack. Whew......

Ah.. that made me feel better about my craziness. My son's kindergarten teacher actually had 'alot' on her class website. Made me so sad that I can't afford a better school for my children.

I have actually hidden people from my feed on FB because of their horrible grammar. My biggest pet peeve is actually when people label their photo captions "Sally and I at Seaworld", etc. One guy posts his lunch dates w/ his wife like this "Tammy and I's lunch at McDonalds". HIDE!!!
