Don - Not sure if this is what was discussed or not but if you have Photoshop, Russell Brown has a tutorial and a download on his site: Scripts Page
I installed it and it works great!

No, I don't have photoshop. The thread discussed several programs that would put a watermark/copyright on images. I'm currently using "copyrightleft" but it strips the exif data off the file. . I'm looking for something that leaves the data intact or an easy way to use "Gimp". Even better, if someone knows and can tell me how to add a copyright in Canon's Digital Photo Pro.

I don't recall the thread but my favorite method of putting a copyright on my photos is to create it myself in Gimp.
Go to file-new-create a new image. Create a new image. In the advanced options choose fill with: and select transparency.
Now using the text tool and whatever font you prefer type your info. Once done save as a .png file. Don't save as a jpg..
When you are ready to mark your photos open this png file and copy-paste as a new layer into the photo and move it where you want it with the move tool..

Thanks Colyn. That sounds much easier than most of the tutorials I've found so far.

To give you an example how it looks see the below image.
Before marking the image resize to the final size then mark it.
I created several versions with the file name.png noting font color and size.
Very simple to create..

I have to copy paste from OOo..
I did the sample for a quick demonstration. My original will have the correct copyright symbol.
