You're a pro, you need a photographer to shoot yourself and others. What is the "one thing" you would look for in a photog?

The results of their work. That's it. Nothing else really matters... to me.

Style and that the job is within their scope of work. Meaning a wedding photographer does not necessarily make a good sports photographer or <insert any scenario here>.

Price and years of experience. I am willing to pay more for someone who has been in the biz longer as long as they produce a consistent quality product.

Exactly.

Shelby's a great example, actually. I would want a photographer who has the personality that shines through in their work.. and is willing to go that extra mile on the service side of things to make sure you're happy.

Something to keep in mind in your own business - If you make your client happy, they will remember that more than the price they paid. If you disappoint them, they will remember both.

A camera.
Just kidding, I'd like to see previous work and that I feel comfortable with them.

Consistency. Individuality.

The ability to capture the "hidden". Does the image communicate on a level beyond the typical documentation of an individual's appearance and surroundings.

A consistent body of unique and top quality images like Fer Juaristi, Daniel Aguilar, Davina and Daniel, and Ben Chrisman. If I were getting married (and had the money), I would hire one of these people. They consistently produce amazing and unique images, way beyond what I normally see.
