Crawfish scream when you put them in the pot... Boudreaux and Thibodeaux did that research. I dont believe them though.

you guys are cracking me up....

I was thinking about this AGAIN last night, that fox...ohhh poor little fox...

I think what upsets me isnt the normal practice of the meat industry its the small group that is disturbing and ( IMO ) it get dismissed because someone says, "oh well they have an agenda....so Im not going to pay attention because it doesnt happen all the time or very often or the footage was taken illegally or you didnt see the whole picture...." An Agenda is to bring attention to an issue or problem and IMO this is a problem...again Im not talking the industry as a whole...its the ones that skin foxes alive, the ones that because people arent responsible pet owners cause the needless deaths of dog and cats each year...those agendas I think need to be brought to people attention, agenda or not...yes, slaughter houses arent pretty or they would have names like Utter Spa or Pecker Paradise...but there is no neat and pretty way to package up a cow it is what it is....BUT if bringing to light the unethacial treatment of animals is part of their agenda large or small then so be it and will end the needless suffering then go Agenda!...no one or no thing animal or human should have to suffer for our own vanity ( ie foxes)...Im all for the fox...can you tell :)

So yes I agree that the industry as a whole isnt evil and that meat is good!! we had hot dogs this weekend and I dont EVEN wanna know how those go the way they did, they were good and thank you hotdog maker man for doing what I could never do ...BUT....the man who skinned the little fox or dumped that poor dog alive in the trash compactor if I ever meet you in a dark alley, you better watch out...yes I am speaking violently, ironey huh :)

OH. MY. LORD! That is NOT the image I want in my head before I scramble some eggs....

If you live in a city with a large Jewish population look for a Kosher meat market, Kashrut has strict rules about how humanely the animal is slaughtered.

No, they've got strict rules about HOW the animal is slaughtered, and WHO does it: it's probably less "humane" than the bolt to the brain... If I was a steer, I really wouldn't consider a rabbi slitting my throat and letting me bleed out while he chanted some Hebrew "more humane" than a bolt to the head that knocked me out instantly..

Kimberley, if their agenda was REASONABLE I'd be all on board: They flat-out will not even entertain the notion that the methods they publicize are NOT the "norm"... Their agenda is to shut down the meat industry and spread veganism, not "clean up" the meat industry: thus the incessant repetition of the same tired videos from the '70s that end up in these propaganda videos. If they approached this from a "let's get rid of inhumane treatment" rather than from "meat is murder", they'd probably get a heck of a lot of the beef industry in their corner: it doesn't do a bit of good for the industry for those selected operations to even exist, and the majority of the industry knows it and will fight against it... It's NOT getting "dismissed": it's just getting buried in the mix because the animal-rights terrorists really don't care if you chop their head off with an axe or if you give them sodium pentothol while you play Debussy in the background and whisper sweet nothings in their ear while they pass: the fact that you have ended their life for human consumption is just anathema to them... The beef industry(as well as other agriculture interests) is forced to fight against them just simply by the inflexibility of their agenda... If the ALF had their agenda completely adopted, we would all be munching on St. Augustine, farting incessantly, and basically dying from a lack of the B vitamins and protein.. That would be just hunky-dory with them...
Heck, I'm as opposed to the "fox" incident as you are: while I hunt, fish, etc., I make great efforts to minimize suffering in any way, shape, or form... I've got buddies that half-jokingly call me the PETA hunter because of my very vocal position that a quick and painless death is absolutely paramount if you're going to even venture to hunt: I will not stand for unnecessary suffering to ANY animal, although I maintain a Rooseveltian position that humans ARE predators, and thus a natural part of the cycle of life. A well-placed bullet or arrow is quite preferable to any death that Nature delivers to any given animal.... I AM what the animal-rights movement should be promoting if they want to bring the average American on board with their quest for an end to animal suffering: they, on the other hand, have adopted an agenda of veganism or nothing, and videos like this are their propaganda weapon of choice...

Yes, such abuse SHOULD be publicized: as a tool to attack the guilty. It is currently being publicized as a tool to attack ANYTHING related to non-vegan lifestyles, is absolutely dishonest and utterly inaccurate, and has no place in a legitimate public discourse.
