I posted this in the Printing section, but it appears that is more geared toward equipment for printing photos up at your house or what ever and not sure it was the apropraite place to post about professional printing. If this is the incorrect location or that one is, then someone feel free to move it or let me know where I should put it, but anyway...
I created a baby announcement in Photoshop that is set to 300dpi at a size equal to a 5x7.
Where should I have these printed? Should I go to a local lab or choose an online lab for this?
I saw that Millers was recommended and I went to their site and when I attempted to look into pricing, they wanted an account number and, of course, I don't have one there.
Any idea what printing these should cost?
Suggestions?
Thanks!!!!

Mpix has an option to print "greeting cards" or "photo prints w/ envelopes" (5x7 or 4x8) and do a pretty good job and provide envelopes with cards. I did 4x8s for my neice and nephew's birth announcements last year and they turned out nicely.

I wonder if they would put my logo on the back also.

many print labs will do a card or announcement. I know that ACI Lab does.

Mpix is good if you don't want want to setup a professional account with Miller's or WHCC. I do not believe Mpix will print on the envelopes though. You can order stickers of your logo though.

Another vote for Mpix. I just had some printed last week since I didn't have my Miller's account info with me. We ordered on Thurs night and had them on Monday with priority shipping. They will print your studio info on the back of the cards but not envelopes.

like I said in the previous post....its time to step it up, if your going to offer professional products then use a professinal lab....signing up for a account literally takes less time that buying something on Amazon...
Mpix is great but its a consumer lab...anyone can use it....offer what the consumer cant, if your calling yourself a professinal then use professional products :)
WHCC or Mpixpro offers diffrent types of paper, sizes etc....
come on join you wont regret it!!!

I just filled out the questionairs for the first step of becoming a client with Miller, WHCC and Mpixpro. I think some of them are going to want like 5 8x10's to process and ship to me as the next step.

I am in love with WHCC. I never had any issues with Millers, but I really like the WHCC ordering system and how they ship stuff. Their boutique packaging is nice as well. If you get some custom stickers you can add them to the packaging and voila!

Guess I can compare between them that way too. They will be shipping them to me within 24 hours. I guess that will mean I should start looking for them on Tuesday-ish.
I wonder if I should email a local lab the same exact photos and have them print them here also to compare. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
