Argh... I started working at home somewhere around 1999.. shortly after that, I realized that I had to do something to ward off solicitors coming to my door constantly and interrupting my work day (seriously, it was up to once a day at one point)... so I went to Office Depot and bought a little "No Soliciting" sign, attached it to magnets, and put it prominently on the front door.
Fast forward to last night.. I hear someone messing around at the front door (which usually means someone is putting something on the doorknob), followed shortly by a knock.. the dog goes wacko at the window next to the door. I look out, try to get his attention to wave him off, he isn't looking, so I just go sit back down.. "No Soliciting," you know... he persists.. rings the bell and knocks again before giving up and going away (I did try to get his attention once more, too)...
Tonight as a friend is at the door, I find that my "No Soliciting" sign is missing. I would have noticed it yesterday.. and didn't go in and out that door at all today.. so I remember the scratching sound at my door last night.......
Which leads to only one conclusion........
That dirty rat bastard TOOK MY SIGN!
That's the lowest of the low for a door to door salesman (which are usually pretty low anyway). Gawd, I wish I knew what he was selling... time to ask the neighbors... and I was in such a good mood a few minutes ago, too!

That's why I usually answer the door in my underwear (I put it on for that) and my 9mm in my hand.
The people leave real quick.
Works on the Watchtower people too.
A little freaky for the girl scouts though.

Don't feel alone. I have been going out past Springtown to work, and the "Entering Wise County" sign has just disappeared from the 'Agnes North' county road

Time to make a new sign. I saw a sign on The Simpsons that was something to the effect of:
Ring Bell For Free A**-Kicking

Brad, I know JUST how you feel. I work at home also. All day long doorbell rings, 2 dogs go freakin' nuts (while I'm on a so-called "professional" phone call)...I used to answer (sometimes it is the UPS lady and I DON't want to miss her) and listen to their spiel but they are sometimes just plain RUDE. I guess I will just have to stock up on No Solicitor signs too.

.....and don't know what "soliciting" is.
