Question Facebook, Blog, or.....???? - 08-15-2010, 02:49 PM

My wife is in a study group (8-10 people) that wants to share ideas and information across the group. Not sure if a Facebook page or a blog or something else might be the way to to go. Neither of us have ever used Facebook.

Looking for an alternative to reply all emails.

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Let em try a blog as a group, could be interesting-not sure of FB's TOS that would allow multiple people to have access to one account.

A way to keep in touch and share info with your study group? Facebook works well. Everyone can share comments and ideas equally. If you were the group leader, maybe a blog might be best, since you'd post your teachings and the students could post replies.

Yeah they can post into the account but I think a blog could offer more leeway as to what you can do with it for all members.

Blogspot blogs allow 100 "authors". For document sharing... use google docs. The two together should meet their needs nicely, plus the blog can be set to private allowing interaction only among the members/authors.

Another vote for google docs.

Blogs/facebook is to broadcast information from few people to the public. What you need is more or less private setting, so within the same few people... and google docs is perfect for that.

Google Docs would be my first recommendation.

www.WikiSpaces.com is a great alternative as well.

Without more info on what your wife is specifically trying to do with her group, it's hard to say that we are guiding you in the right direction. However, all the suggestions about a blog and google docs should be the best bet.

Yahooo groups would be another alternative to look at. I have not used google groups, but I used to do some yahoo group stuff several years ago. Several forums started there as a group and then got bigger and converted.
