It looks a lot like when they had Jill Greenberg doing their adds. I wouldn't of given it a second thought really.

Really? I guess the scanned copy doesn't do the "plastic look" justice. The original in my hand looks like rubber or plastic barbie doll skin and her teeth and eyes are glowing like the aliens from Stargate. It looks a little less horrible online, but still... I thought even the copy on my blog looks so fake and over-photoshopped.

Maybe they were trying appeal to those parents who enter their 5-year-olds in pageants and get those freakishly over-retouched portraits done...

I agree. It looks too fake for my tastes.

and I wondered too about the pool in the middle of nowhere.....

A.) Some people smoke WAY to much crack. Who actually buys this crap?


B.) Do y'all think as photographers we overthink things WAY to much. Maybe that pool is in her backyard on a multi-thousand acre ranch with one hell of a view? What bothered me more than the pool was her extremely tiny right arm.
