Tuesday:
1. On crutches!
2. Tammy’s here to take me school/work pickup.
3. I need a wheel chair. Tammy gets me one!!!

4. Dr. looks at x-ray and says, “Hummmmm”, whips out a ruler, measures bone separation, & said, “It’s only a 5 millimeter spread. I’ll just cast it.”
5. Thanking GOD for answered prayer. I get a bright pink cast.

Dang Lexie that is not the way to start a new school year. From one that has suffered through at last count 9 broken bones without any type of surgery thank goodness yours didn't require any either. Hope you heal well and heal fast.

Thanks! Since I'm not allowed to put any weight on it at ALL, I've borrowed my uncle's motorized scooter to get around in the classroom. It has sure helped too! It's difficult to carry papers, books, etc. and hold on to the crutches AND WALK TOO!

I'd rather be running cross country like Tori instead of in this pink cast! I'll find out Sept 8 if I have to have surgery! I'm praying it heals on it's own. The orthopedic said, Non-weight bearing for the first 2 weeks then we'll see.

Week 1 was ok, although I have more students than desks in 40% of my classes with students in them.

Reminds me a good friends week...we had a "family" get together for the girls varsity volleyball team. Played a little game...she fell cuz she was in a dress. Got up but her foot hurt. Monday when I see her...in a cast..not pink though!!! All so she could get out of working in the concession stand one time!!! : ) Not a good start to the school year...hope you don't have to have surgery that would soooo stink!!

Nope, not a good way to start the year! The superintendent heard about my accident the following morning and came by my room that afternoon. He said he could not believe I was at the ER the night before and at work the next day. I told him I had a class full of kids to teach! I agree, surgery would sure put a kink in my plans!!
