Wasn't hired or anything, it's just a photo I took for work... but hell, I've never got a photo in a magazine so it's pretty cool.

oh, and the architects called me wanting this photo. unfortunately, I can't charge them because I took it on city time, using city resources (lift) to take it. but it did end up being a good primer for potential future business.

yeah, it's a pretty cool job... most of my time is spent hammering out last minute design projects, but every once in a while I get to break out and do stuff like this.

I can't wait for our new central library to get built, those photos will be pretty fun. might have to see about renting a helicopter for some aerial still/video.

It's always a great feeling to get published. And, I guess you actually DID get paid for it, since you took it on company time... I shoot for clients all the time that send my images out for marketing and PR uses. I get paid by the original client and then see my pics show up in all sorts of newspapers, magazines, newsletters, ads, etc. That's basically what you did here. And congrats again!!! Especially if it opened a door for future paying gigs from a new client (the architecture firm).

guess you're right about getting paid... however, since I work for the city, it certainly wasn't photog industry standard prices :|
