Icons die !!
Persons, Process, or Place.

Eventho 3 layer roll film was imagined in the late 19th century ... it was not until 1935 when Kodak came out with Kodachrome and Agfa with Agfacolor. At first both were color slide film and later the chrome distinction came to refer to slides and color was used for negative. Agfa had the dye in the material and Kodak did not.

So how did Kodak go from materials that required dye injection to those like Agfa which had dye contained in and therefore Process like E3 E6 ???

Something of intrest and not well know is what happened to Agfa in the post World War II era. The US state department gave Eastman Kodak the right to examine all of Agfa's R & D files and other intellectual property. This lead to new films and methods for Kodak with the color dye directly in the film ... Ektachrome ... Ektacolor ... Ektamatic ... and similar. It always is in your best interest to be on the winning side !!

Inaccurate & misleading article. One lab dropping E6 processing doesn't mean that NOBODY will process E6. Go buy some E6 film and burn it up. Send a message that E6 film ROCKS!

Cool E6 is alive! E6 is well! - 09-01-2010, 04:48 PM

One more time: E6 is NOT, repeat NOT dead!

One GOOGLE search turned up Holland Photo in Austin, TX. 35mm through 8x10 E6 processing. Mail in orders welcome! I bet AZ is still doing up to 4x5 here in Houston.

E6 Lives!

"The fact that Chromatics will no longer process color slides in E-6 does not mean that nobody will be doing so. No doubt other photo labs in some other cities will continue to develop color slides and color transparencies-- at least for a while."
I think that Thomas Sowell would agree with you.
