The clouds have been awesome this week. BUT... every time I head to my spot to go shoot them at sunset, they've already broken up and are totally gone.

the sky looks rad right now.. hopefully I can add a shot to my sky/cloud bank tonight.

If you're in austin, look west, it's pretty sweet.

oh, and I guess I can share this with you guys. it's right by my house. this church is on top of this hill. just before you enter the parking lot, there's a nice grassy area where you get nothing but a straight horizon and nothing but sky for almost 180 degrees.

austin - Google Maps

even though I didn't get a great sunset/cloud shot... the sunset is pretty amazing from this spot.

That's my old neck of the woods, I was a manager at the HEB across the street there for a few years. There is another great location on the other side of william cannon on top of a hill by westgate. I look forward to seeing how your shots come out

I'll probably be attempting a downtown skyline shot tonight... keeping my fingers crossed for a good sunset!

you know, speaking of skies... the mornings have been spectacular lately. I work downtown and get to park on a parking garage on the west end of DT... i just wish it was a tad further south so I could get the frost and austintonian in the shot just right.

Well, the clouds you saw to the west finally made it down here to San Antonio. Nice thunder going on outside, now if we could get some rain out of it.

Just talked to my brother a bit ago that lives south of Austin. He said the lightning is quite nice down there. All I'm getting here is blurs in the clouds.

yeah, I got some ok shots of that storm blowing by, but I didn't get any rimlight at all. I might end up processing what I got this weekend and post it, but it's not exactly what I was looking for.

right on, thanks... I was driving south on 360 and there's a great view of downtown between two big hills. I'm not sure if there's a decent spot to park or anything, but if I figure one out, I'll let you know.

here's one from friday after the day's rain finally broke. I have a few others from the afternoon I started this thread, and actually later from this sunset, but I need to sift through then and do a quick raw conversion.
