Just got Photoshop Elements and it's not compatable with windows 7

What version are you trying to run? I just looked at their website and this is what it states for Elements 8

went to adobe and bought 8 this was p.e4 a friend had bought two copies and gave me the 2nd copy.

Oh yeah. You're way better off with PE8.
