Ran across this thread reference posted by MCP to Facebook.
Photographer Offers Groupon Deal Using Stolen Photographs, Chaos Ensues
That article has links to the screenshots that were taken prior to the stolen photos being removed from the Groupon deal, facebook and her website.

This link is to the discussion thread on Groupon.

It is usually pretty obvious when the pictures on a website are very inconsistent. I busted someone on here that was asking for feedback on a ad flier he was designing for his photography business. He bought pictures from iStock for his flier, and when you went to his website, you could tell the difference immediately.

My website looks way different than it did a couple years ago, mainly because I deleted all the ****ty pictures I took that I thought were great. Most photographers delete the stuff that isn't portfolio worthy once they get better and get better stuff, so it makes it easy to tell if someone has really inconsistent work on their site.

I saw this yesterday, and all were gone before Groupon closed the comments. Her twitter was still up yesterday evening, but it is also gone now.

It looks like portfoliositez shut down her website, and she closed her FB (though Facebook has acted fairly quickly when I've reported copyright violations.)

Local Video

She went on Atlanta news with her side of the story. She said it was one photo and her web manager did it. Hilarious.

She also said she is giving a free 30min session to each of the groupon buyers (there were about 1300 buyers.)

Thanks for posting, that was a great read. Still LMAO that she tried to continue the deal on her own website after she was busted.

Ok. I'm not doubting the validity of the story, but I do have to say that my hosting company provides templates with installed photos. Granted they are copyright marked, but they are there upon installation. Its up to you to change them and replace them with your own. What if this is such a case that got blown out of proportion?

But, being a 'professional', I would think that one would be diligent to make sure that there is absolutely no work other than their own no their website. Thats just carelessness.

And with that I say this, what a....
