Abandoned or Burned out building Dallas? - 09-28-2010, 07:26 PM

Can anyone help me with finding an abandoned and or burned out building in central Dallas? ...or as close as possible to Dallas.

Intersection or Landmark would be great.

Thanks,

Jeremy

Yeah it's for a model photoshoot. I figured since this was a photo forum that would be self explanatory.

Please inform me if you know a location.

Thanks in advance,

Jeremy

Not likely to find one in Dallas anymore of any substantial size, there are a few down in the Cedars (decrepit run down buildings) south of Downtown but none anymore in Deep Ellum or even East Dallas/Fair Park area that I know of.

As to a burned out one, they are all fenced in now because of Insurance Liabilities and they usually get dozed pretty quickly in Dallas. See Dallas has been on a rampaged for the last 2 years against these sorts of buildings along with graffitti which makes it harder to find what you are looking for, this may change with the budget cut backs-fewer code insepctors and fire marshalls on the payroll may let a few slip through the cracks.

Now there are some interesting buildings near the stockyards that people sneak into, the old meat packing plants (Swift-Armour) that may fir your bill- they have been talked about many times here.

BTW this subject has been covered maybe a half a dozen times in the past year, along with graffitti-could have been found with a search of the forum probably without too much trouble.\

But like I said check around the Cedars, just drive the streets-the Cedars is the area over near City Park and Southside which is full of older warehouses that have been more neglected than Deep Ellum/Fair Park/Exposition Park. You defenitley won't find anything in Uptown, you may find something in West Dallas across the river.
