Send the kids to the game and hang the coaches in a public square

KHOU has a follow up, and a more in depth story as to what triggered this. If the follow up story is true, I'd be hard pressed not to hit someone too.

...and let's ban all photographers too for the behavior of one or a few. No, you sort it out and punish those that should be punished.

I think all the coaches involved should be fired and banned from working with kids. I thought the fight started when 2 of the players were "jawing" with each other and a coach tried to separate them. I don't know how he did this, but the brawl I saw on the video was totally uncalled for and they should all be banned. Ge the kids some new coaches and let them play.

Dan I don't think it is just a Texas thing, I recall seeing several of these from different regions over the years. It is sad no matter where it happens though these kids are not going to meet the president, win a trip to Disney, or win a diamond ring for these games and the coaches who act like this need to get a life.

As far as the follow up story, if my son was thrown by a coach of the opposing team there WOULD be charges filed but I wouldn't embarrass my son but acting like an idiot and they both said the kids were scuffling so I guess the nut don't fall too far from the tree.

Kid sports are just taken way to serious....

When I was growing up, kids sports were never played in venues such as the one in the video. When you put that much emphasis on the sport then it is taken too seriously and adult issues such as ego get put in the spotlight.

I remember when my dad coached basketball in a youth association. We had a draft like every year and my dad got some really good players. One of the coaches got really upset that we ended up with an awesome team... My dad, always trying to strive for peace, told the coach that there was no funny business going on, but he would be more than happy to give up the "star" player in question. We won the league that year and just about every year he coached.

Short story long, IT"S A GAME! If you can't coach without your ego in the way you have no place on the sideline... same goes for the freaking parents.
