Tony Curtis, then Stephen Cannell. Wonder who's next as it seems to always come in threes.

As a melanoma survivor, I always hate to hear of someone passing away from this disease. If caught early (like mine), the survival rate is extremely high, but if not caught early, the odds are stacked against you. Regular skin checks with your dermatologist are the easiest medical test you'll ever undergo. That's my PSA in Mr. Cannell's memory. RIP.

I would think singer Eddie Fisher or the late, great director Arthur Penn, who directed Bonnie & Clyde, The Miracle Worker and Little Big Man (among other films), both of whom also passed away this week would be in that group of 3. Penn was the brother of the late photography master Irving Penn - don't you wonder what was discussed around the family dinner table to have two kids at the top of their chosen professions?

Also, comedian Greg Giraldo, who was in his 40's and best known for his Comedy Central stand up shows and as a "roaster" died this week of an accidental overdose of prescription meds. I thought he was funny and knew he was smart (Columbia undergrad, Harvard Law).
