since a 1 TB remote drive is well under $200 I just about archive 99%+ (even at events) including some out of focus ones that may have an interesting look within part of it if it is cropped down- you never know what future software may do that would allow you to use that file section. Now on a portrait shoot I will quite often deleate them in camera when doing a quick chimping in case of the OOF and flash misfires since I know they are pretty much useless (other than the on purpose OOF's that sometimes are messed around with just to see what it will look like) (I really would like to see the old button/tab that you could push in on the old film nikons that would let you really see the stepped down lens so that you could view your focus bokeh a bit better than the digitals do-I hope this makes sense-it's late and I am tired after a 5 day outdoor event that I left today after the skies opened up).

I shot a woman 4 months ago on a freebie. Took maybe 150 shots, and had a high percentage of good one. Processed maybe 20. A couple of months later she died unexpectedly. I was glad I kept "all" the shots.
I keep all except the eyes closed, misfires, and bad expressions. You never know when someone might want whatever you have.

Never throw away your bad shots. I ran across some old film from my college days and found a frame or two that I liked, but didn't catch in the initial edit. You will discover and rediscover hidden gems...

I absolutely delete all that is unusable. No sense in keeping it, unless I can learn from it! I had an HD crash on me before so I tend not to trust them. I burn most of it on CD.
