Okay - I'm not a fan of makeup... but the new job is alot of meet & greet/interact...and so I've been taking ten minutes and putting it on...

Although I find it quite hilarious that I'm packing lip gloss and a pair of cougarpaws in my car every morning.. (roof climbing shoes!)

My friend told me to hit Macy's or Dillards and get M.A.C makeup... but to be very specific cause they'll paint me up like a Geisha...

So for you guys that work with Makeup artists...or have wives you can ask who pull off the 'no makeup-naturally pretty' technique and you girls who have WAY more experience than me with this stuff...

What do you use... have you tried the MAC stuff? What did you think?

MAC isnt for that kinda look imho. They are for kick ass, need total coverage, and bright pigments kinda look.

For more natural you can look at a light weight foundation with sheer coverage (product is usually targeting teens), a natural colored eye liner pencil (match your lash color), black or brown mascara, and a tinted lip balm. Tah dah - natural looking office make up. Takes less than 10 mins to apply, assuming you dont poke yourself in the eye.

You can also try Bare Minerals. It doesnt feel like make up.

PS - dont let the make up counter ladies push you around. You want sheer natural look. And you dont need more products than whats listed above to start off with.

Thanks!

I'll check out Bare Minerals... I'd picked this up a while back... and it's been easy to use... but it's been a while...and it's time to toss it out.

MAC is excellent cosmetics.....however the freaks at the counter will turn you into some sort of glam model if you ask for a makeover.

Bring a friend and ask for help at the counter, be firm and let them know that you don't want to look like a hooker from South Dallas.

Also, look at Bobbi Brown makeup. Very high quality stuff.

Costco has their version of Bare Minerals, it costs less and comes with a video on how to use it. But I would go to the bare minerals and have them show you the product and how to use it.

Kimberly it is great. My logic is that with a shower and drying my hair if I spend more than 20 minutes in the bathroom that is too long. I can even get Mineral makeup on. It only takes 2 minutes.

Isn't this stuff just for covering up black eyes and busted lips.

Sorry, just had to go there.

I believe MAC, if you go to their site, offers discounts to photographers and MUA's (more for MUA's) so you can get a card mailed to you that you can use at any MAC retailer and they will issue the discount at time of purchase. I believe MAC is the line that a lot of Film MUA's use on set.
