Shooting models / clients at the Fort Worth Zoo? - 10-16-2010, 07:16 AM

I have a senior who wants to use an animal print prom dress in her photos, and would like to shoot in the zoo. Does anyone have experience with shooting *people* at the zoo? I couldn't find anything on their site regarding commercial fees.

Also, does anyone know if "Boo at the Zoo" sort of pulls the general public away from other exhibits, or is it still a madhouse everywhere during those days?

Thanks in advance!

Shannon

Fort Worth Zoo used to have a very strict photography policy. I don't see it on their site anymore. You may just want to call them and ask.

As I recall, the restrictions were quite extensive.

Thanks everyone. I was looking for a separate page on photography and missed the blurb at the bottom of the Visitor's page.

I believe this will be the first year the boo is held while the zoo is open. When my kids went, two years ago was the last time, it was CRAZY. So many people and kids.

I have already talked to the senior, and she is excited that I'll be shooting her there and entering her photograph in the Boo at the Zoo photo contest. We'll be going there early Saturday morning, so I'm praying for the best! Thanks everyone!

Wow, that kinda surprises me...sounds like that means not even sharing on this forum.

This is interesting. Houston Zoo has a photo day and they allow you to do whatever with your images. They also ask (if you want) to send some in to post on their site about the event. I have never gone to the zoo on a non Photo Day as it's always to busy for a tripod but am interested in knowing... does the Austin and Dallas zoo have the same policies or just the FW?
