Tornado North of Corsicana - 10-24-2010, 09:35 PM

I was driving up to DFW this evening and saw this.
(Excuse the cell phone pics. Wouldn't you know it. I made the one off decision to leave my cameras at home.)
The next to last image is what is left of a tractor trailer that was carrying an oversize load after the tornado picked it up and propped it on the center devider.
The last image is about 10 miles down the road looking back on the storm cell.

Wow -- glad you are safe!

Can't believe that last car that drove by -- looks like he made it through the full wall of the funnel...

Scary stuff and lots of debri in the air!

Wow! What time was that?

I was coming back to Houston from Arlington yesterday evening just before sunset and I came down I-45 through Corsicana. Now I am wondering if all the hail I saw on the side of the road came from this system. It was somewhere near Fairfield. At first, I thought a large load of salt had spilled, but there was toomuch scattered and piled up along the side of the road and up on the emankment near the feeder road. Blew my mind. That was a lotta hail.

Edit. Nevermind. I see the date on the pic. That is about the same time I was coming through the area also.

We almost were in the middle of all this too. We were in Houston and were planning to come home that day, but we decided to stay another day. Very thankful we did!
