Anyone know this woman? (Lost/Found issue!) - 10-26-2010, 08:03 PM

I had a session at a park on Saturday - getting ready to leave, noticed a white bag sitting there on the ground that had been there since before we got there... I thought someone had probably thrown some stuff in there - and because there are kids in and out - I was going to throw it away.

This is a rather small area of the park - fenced in - if someone else was in that area - we would have seen them... plus my camera gear was laying on the table 90% of the time we were there (just to show it wasn't a 'missed them, took their stuff kind of situation').

I picked up the bag - and it had 2 half empty containers of some kind of decorating stuff...and a little P&S camera bag...with a camera in it.

I posted lost/found on Craigslist...but I just posted a generic kind of post - it's hard to post if you don't want to say what exactly was in the bag... lol..

Anyway - flipped through the sd card in the camera and determined that this woman is the owner... she's pretty outgoing... lots of people in the photos with her... so I thought I'd post a photo and see if someone knows her... so I can get her stuff back to her.

Anyway - PM me if you do!

What a great thing to do Donna.

While I hope that this is not the case, have you thought about checking with the local PD to see if this woman was a missing person? Not trying to be negative, but that is what popped in my head when you mentioned the park and its lack of people around...

Good luck finding her...

I don't live near Katy, so I doubt I've seen her before. Good work on trying to return the lost goods, though!

That's a good idea and very nice of you. I would call the cities parks and recreation department to report that you found it. They may have left a number with the police or parks and recreation just incase someone found it. You could also post her pic on facebook. It's amazing how quick things can spread on FB. Let us know if anyone recognizes her.

Your post got me excited, then I realized you just misread something... I'm waiting for her to actually be found, because that would make for a fun story to hear/read about!

Probably a slim chance that this would work, but could you take the serial number off the camera and contact the manufacturer in the event that it was registered for warranty purposes?

Another thought...was there a store receipt in the bag? If so and if it was paid with plastic, maybe they could get some contact info that way somehow.

How about going through the menus on the camera and see if there is a place where her name might be entered--or check the exif on the photos and see (again, slim chance) if she put some contact information in there.
