Currently my wife is using InDesign CS5. She's still a novice at using the software so she may not be aware of all it's features.

She wants something that will speed up the process when pages are added, deleted, or moved. The printer needs 11x17 spreads to print front and back, which is 4 pages of the book. She uses past yearbooks as a template, but each team is a different number of pages with each new book. It is time consuming to add/delete spreads and rearrange pages. All of the pages need to be renumbered and usually lots of cutting and pasting to get pages lined up on the new correct spread. She would like software that automatically shifts complete pages as you add and delete pages. It would be great if it then saved the document in the 11x17 spreads for the printer.

I'm not sure if FF can do what my wife needs. Let me add an illistration to better explain.

The print company we use requires us to design our yearbook a certain way. They will print an 11x17 sheet then flip it over and print on the other side. When all the sheets are printed the print company stacks all the sheets on on top of the other then saddle staple the entire book together.

In InDesign my wife will create pages 1&30, then pages 2&29, 3&28, 4&27, and so on. I know the traditional way is to create pages 1&2, 3&4....... I'm guessing FotoFusion and other software using the "traditional" way.

My wife needs a software that will renumber pages and shift its content accordingly as I described above.

I think you need to explore the "print booklet" feature in InDesign. Google "Print Booklet Indesign" and see if you can find your answer. Good luck.

I think it does what you need. I may have forgotten since It was set up that way and then I changed the setting! OR if it does not you could set your pages up and number them as 1&30 and then 2&29 you have the pages on each one set in your template then just drop in the photos names and any title you need.
Just shoot support an email and ask.

keep in mind that your page number will be in multiples of 4 if it's going to be saddle stitched. if you're gonna do something like perfect or spiral bound, you can do in 2s.

basically take a piece of paper and fold it in half, that's 4 panels. take a few pieces of paper, stack them together and fold them all in half... your page number will be driven by multiples of 4.
