Hah, I've got two monitors. This is so true.

After the dark angel of lay-offs passed through last year I grabbed another monitor from the desk next to me. The looks of awe from the people passing through the office were great for a week or so. Then others realized that all they had to do was plug in another monitor and they too could wield the power of two. Darwin trotted out again though when the quick, and quick-witted grabbed up all the spare monitors; while inferior ones watched the evolution of their desks come to a bitter halt.

50"... bahhh... 82" is king. Does this mean though that I have to buy a third camera?

i have a 3 monitor setup... I use it for sim racing :)

for me, size means little. a single 82" flat screen is still only 1280x1024...

I'm running 4096x1024 :) booo ya!

I have a 24" and my 17" laptop at work. Very spoiled.

Seriously, what are the advantages for photographers having multiple monitors? I never felt the need for a second one so far. What am I missing?

For me, having two monitors means bridge running on one and PS running on the other. At work it means reference document on one, programming tool on the other. Two monitors is great if you want to have two apps running and dont want to A: toggle back and forth or B: split screen it and have half screens to scroll...

I run two at work so I can have many things open at once, or just have email on the smaller screen while working on the big one.

At home my laptop is a 16.4" and my monitor is 25.5", so I'll usually just use the big one for the editing software.

Actually 1920x1080 and it's great when I use it. Sizer matters when you can see detail you would normally miss.
