This is full of complete awesomeness!

Jesse did a complete portrait shoot using 9 (yea NINE) iPads as lighting sources. Those iPads were mounted on three fixtures.

Now if You are saying that this not convenient nor practical you are right, but hear Jesse:

"Nine iPads will set you back around $4,500. That amount of money can buy you a LOT of lumens in the form of a generic monobloc. This is not intended to be an exercise in excess, but rather a self-imposed limitation to help flex the creative muscles, and to make a point"

I knew someone would beat me to it. An idea is one thing, but being able to actually do it is another. I thought this would be a GREAT marketing idea, because you know the video has the potential of going viral. I got the idea about three or four months ago when I saw a girl that used two regular laptops as a lighting source. Change it to using ten or twelve ipads and you have something memorable!

He did it much better than I could have, though... so, I'm glad he beat me to it.

There's not much point. It's more about doing something buzz-worthy for marketing purposes. The iPad is just another constant light source, like anything else... but, it has the word "iPad" in the shoot - making it "cool" and "hip". It's the whole reason why I thought of doing this a few months back. It's just a catchy idea that Apple lovers will enjoy seeing.

I guess the only point here to gain is, you van use any available lighting to take photos!
