Photographer wins part of Lottery

In other news, Detroit area Photographer Mike Greer is having a "moving business" fire sale. Mr. Greer states that everything must go to make room for his new Leicas, Mamiyas, Broncolors, Hensels, and Chimeras.

My father is a photographer. He won a lottery last month. He was so happy. He won a bike.

Mike is a regular on another place I frequent.

He didn't really win it. A dear friend of his bought the ticket but didn't want to deal with everything. Their lottery rules state that at least one winner must come forward and be the face of the ticket and have a press conference. Mike is that man. The real winner gave him a cut so that they wouldn't have to deal with it. And with good reason. Mike said he can't go home because of all the media people camped out. Its been crazy. Pulled his two school aged kids out of school for a while.

He is keeping his business, and plans to stay where he is, though his cut is big enough so he would never have to work again. He is looking to get a digital medium format camera, though.

From what I know of Mike before and after this winning, it could not have gone to a better person, and I am very happy for him.
