I would rather wait for B&H to be open than use many of the questionable places that are always open. Hey, I don't expect Houston Camera Co-op to be open 24/7.
Folks shopped during normal business hours (usually daylight hours) 5 and sometimes 6 days a week for like a few centuries. They alwasy managed to get what they needed. Relax.

Lets tally up how many times it happens and take bets. I'm going with 7 times. I think that at one time or another someone has bi... complained about B&H closing (including me) but I admire their conviction.

They do post their closings well in advance.
Since they are the largest photo store on earth, their operating schedule hasn't hurt their business.

My understanding Sears will be open this Thanksgiving. First time for the retailer. Tough times.

I don't mind the inconvenience too much, and prefer a company that has some sort of moral conviction. But still... open on Thanksgiving Day just doesn't seem right?!?
You understand that Thanksgiving is not a religious holiday, right?

It's a National holiday, Like Presidents day, Memorial day, Labor Day.....

Yes, but it has traditionally been a nationally-observed and very revered holiday. I originally stated that I clearly understand why they are closed on religious holidays. I just didn't understand why they aren't honoring some of the other important holidays, too.

I think you missed my original post. I wasn't complaining that B&H is closed too much... I actually complained that they aren't closed enough! I also stated that I appreciate their religious conviction, so I think you have this whole thread misunderstood.

I agree totally.
I have been shopping at B&H for 20 years (since they were in the old store on 17th st.) and they are the best. Now they are carrying my J-Rod brackets it makes me very proud to be associated with them. Always a great price and the customer is always aware of a back order or grey market product.
