Just watched it. After the thought of "wow, what a great job", and "put your life on hold for 4-8 years" my thoughts went to the amount of equipment needed to sustain the workload...

Within the past 1.5 years (campaign included) he and his staff has taken over 1 million images and average 20-80K images a month, non of which ever get deleted according to the National Archives.

So here are some questions I am grappling with:
- How often does he go through camera bodies and lens's?
- He, and the photo editor staff, probably don't backup to drobo's... Wonder what the server and SAN requirements are for redundant backup of all of these images.
- Can you imagine the photo editor staff responsibility to ensure the captions and keywords match exactly what is happening.. every day? I'm sure they are quite aware of the President's exact schedule and time sync off of the images as well.

Very cool show with a great look at the access they have and in fact probably almost more access than the president is allowed at times...

Souza has talked about what he works with, but if you email him he usually responds!

What a pisser. My PBS channel has an Aretha Franklin Rewind show or something. I suppose they were fund raising. Well, I didn't donate this time.

I watched it also, there is one funny scene where he doesn't get a shot "president shaking someones hand" and he asks them to do it again. President Obama asks him why? And he has to admit that he had maxed out his flash card. So I guess he can't CHIMP and delete any shots? He actually had to put the lens on a different body that he had since he had no additional cards with him that he could get to real quickly.

The show is well worth watching just to see some of the behind the scenes workings of the White House- I miss the "West Wing" tv show.

I read this thread waiting for someone to say they too wanted to Shoot the President. But then again, that might have turned the thread into a political one LOL
