I assisted on a shoot with this older jet a many whiles back but never though to ask what type of jet it was, thought?

My best guess would be a T38.

Someone with more knowledge will be along to correct me.....

Not T38, they don't have the additional thing (technical term) at the end of the wing. Plus nose is too long and blunt and air intake is different.

My guess is some predecessor to the T38. The engine placement on the fuselage is throwing me off for the T38.

You may be correct, but most military type jets come in all sorts of configurations.

That is a trainer, almost anything else would be much larger.

those intakes look like an A-4, and it's small like an A-4, but A-4's were single seaters. Unless it's some sort of 2 seater A-4 training plane...

Yea, Your right. In my mind I remember a trainer that had kinda like a double intake up high like that.

But it doesn't match up with current pics of the T38.
