Gloria Rose - 4 images - 12-01-2010, 10:57 PM

I'm a relatively new TPF member, low post count, seriously into photography for decades. But this post is to introduce not me, but the newest member of the family.

Gloria Rose joined us a little after 10PM last night. She's 7lbs 10oz, just under 20 inches and was calm, alert and responsive until she dozed off about an hour after she was born.

Rose is my wife's first baby. I have two grown daughters from a previous marriage. If you look at the EXIFs, I still had my D90 on DST. Oops!

All images are with the Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8. The first was lit with the pop up flash, diffused. The second and third are existing light. The last is the diffused pop up at -0.7 commanding a bounced SB-600 at +2.0. I set up the camera & handed it to a friend of my wife. All are cropped and color-corrected in FSViewer. No sharpening or grain reduction.

Rose is already immensely loved and appreciated. Thanks be to the Lord for the opportunity to raise another child.

That's just what I was thinking! One of our boys was born with a thick head of hair, too. When that happens, you should immediately put them in a tiny business suit with a tie and briefcase! They look like little men with all that hair!!! I know yours is a girl, so maybe not the best plan of action in your case, but I have three boys...

Congratulations on the new bundle of joy. When my daughter was born she had a thik head of hair like that also. No problems in trying to find that little section of hair to put a bow on.

Aww, congratulations! Nothing like a precious little newborn, such a miracle of God. She's beautiful! (and great job on the photos too).
