Looking for WWII military vehicles... - 12-06-2010, 12:54 AM

Do you or any of your friends have private access to some WWII military vehicles? I am looking to shoot the vehicles and their details to be used for scale model enthusiasts' reference - basically for documentation purposes. One of my neighbors has a WWII Jeep completely restored, but I am looking for something more exotic than that. The Jeeps have been detailed a million times already...

Cavanaugh Flight Museum has lots of old military aircraft in beautifully-restored condition.

You might check with the Veteran's of Foreign Wars. I know of one that has an old military tank parked out front. They might know of other gear.

Call around to local VFW halls. A lot of them have hardware out front.

Hawkins, TX has a Cobra helicopter in a pedestal in a pond. Not much help, huh?

Scroll down to photos of the Cobra here.......

Seems like a lot of bases have museums that the public can visit. What bases are near you? Check their web sites and see if they have anything that you can view.
